Women's Interfaith Sow and Grow Workshops

A diverse group of women of faith have been gathering for a series of Sow and Grow workshops at the Barracks Lane Community Garden, a community-run green space in East Oxford. The women have had the opportunity to meet each other, share tea, wander through the garden and learn how to grow herbs and vegetables on their balconies or windowsills at home. The workshops have been generously hosted and led by Julieanne Porter of Barracks Lane Community Gardens, who has shared her passion for gardening with the women and taught them the basics of sowing.

This project brings together diverse women of faith to explore and share their own stories, build bridges between different communities, and to develop practical skills (such as gardening).

If you are interested in participating in an upcoming workshop or getting involved with the project please contact us through phone (01865 403 144) or email (sally@reachability.co.uk).

Thank you for your interest.

ACTIVE CITIZENS 2012
Participant feedback on Oxfordshire Active Citizens

“The processes used in the training sessions are fun, interactive and also extremely useful for everyone involved."

"I found the community reports and analysis fascinating and a useful basis for discussion and policy development"

“The most useful thing about today were the discussions we had in groups about the global and local things in our area which meant that I learnt more about the area I live in.”

“This was a great training session-the playful, fun approach was essential in order for others to feel at ease with one another and I have learnt so much in one day"

“The best thing about the day was meeting new people with the same hopes for a better community ”
