Sow and Grow Workshop

9.30 - 12.30 Tuesday, 4th October 2011 at the Barracks Lane Community Garden, Oxford

This project aims to bring together diverse women of faith in order for them to learn about each others’ lives and values, to forge ties and build a shared understanding between members of different communities, and to develop practical skills (such as gardening).

Women will have the opportunity to learn how to plant crops like garlic and broad beans and how to grow them throughout winter. The workshop also offers learning about gardening in different spaces, from small community gardens to home gardens and allotments, garden 'walk and talk', as well as discussing the next steps of the project.

The workshop is free of charge, however if you are interested in participating please book ahead by calling (01865 403 144) or through email (info@reachability.co.uk or sally@reachability.co.uk).

Free Participatory Video Workshop
Weds 19th October 2011

Want to learn how to make videos?
ReachAbility is delighted to be able to offer the Oxford Active Citizens and the Women's Interfaith Network (WIN) and participants of the 'Sow & Grow'(WIN) a free place on a video making workshop with our neighbours that we share offices with, InsightShare.

The workshop takes place on Wednesday 19th October, between 10 - 4 pm at the Old Music Hall or the South Oxford Community Centre (venue to be confirmed).

All the basics of filmmaking and a complete video in one day!
During the workshop you will learn how to use the different pieces of equipment that you will need to film: a camera, microphones, headphones and a tripod. During the workshop you will make a short film together with the other members of your group. The choice of the theme of the film is up to you!

Please contact Marleen Bovenmars at InsightShare (see the info below for more details) or the ReachAbility Team if you would like to learn how to make videos.

No experience is needed but places are limited!
In order to participate you don't need any filmmaking knowledge or skills. This workshop is open to anyone. The goal is to learn the basics of filmmaking, but above all: to have fun together!
